OPENING ALERT
New King William coffee bar opens with CBD, cocktails, and cold brew

Archies Fine Coffee is now open in King William.
A local favorite for both caffeine fiends and cocktail connoisseurs is now perking up King William. Amsterdam-inspired coffee shop Archies Fine Coffee has opened its fourth Texas shop at 711 S. St. Mary’s St., taking over the former home of Boozy’s Creamery + Craft.
The new outpost is Archies’ fourth shop since launching in 2021. Founder David Padilla opened the original location on the city’s North Side and has since expanded to downtown and San Marcos.
“Opening our fourth Archies Fine Coffee location — and our third in San Antonio — feels incredibly special,” says owner David Padilla via a press release. “I was born and raised in this city, and now I’m raising my own family here. Being able to share the Archies vibe with the distinct neighborhoods that make San Antonio so dynamic is deeply personal.”

Archies has quickly carved out a niche in San Antonio’s booming coffee scene by serving more than just lattes. The shop’s menu combines the expected espresso drinks with plant-based energy drinks, cocktails, and THC- and CBD-enhanced beverages.
Among the most popular orders are the Whimsey, a draft cold brew with salted caramel, brown sugar, and creamy foam, and the Maui Mango, a mango-pineapple energy drink with some extra pep from green coffee extract. And since Archies' is a coffee shop with a liquor license, of course there’s an espresso martini.
Beyond coffee and cocktails, Archies offers beer, wine, egg bites, and small bites like mini charcuterie boards. Grab-and-go pastries range from horchata doughnuts to gourmet toaster pastries filled with mixed berry compote.
Padilla, who also owns açai and juice bar Jugo, has hinted that even more Archies are in the pipeline. For now, the new King William spot is open daily from 7 am-7 pm, time enough for a quick Americano before work and a happy hour cocktail after.
