Tasty Olmos Park Mexican restaurant relocates to shuttered neighborhood spot
A popular Olmos Park restaurant is making big moves ... sort of. Mexican eatery Sabor CocinaBar has shuttered its original location and moved into the former home of Tribeca 212, as confirmed by an employee.
The new outpost at 4331 McCullough Ave. makes its debut on November 20, just a few blocks from its former address in the Yard development at 5313 McCullough Ave. The owners closed that outlet, which debuted in March 2017, on November 17 in preparation for the move.
Tribeca 212, originally named Tribeca di Olmos, had occupied the space since 2013. Sabor owner Federico Guillen jumped on the space after Tribeca shuttered in September.
The new digs give the owners more room than the cozy original location. High ceilings provide real estate for large-scale contemporary art, a contrast to the low brick walls that enveloped the dining room at The Yard.
The menu, however, remains the same. Guests can still find favorites like mole enchiladas, queso flameado, and Baja-style fish tacos along with a full breakfast menu featuring chilaquiles and several varieties on pancakes.
Sabor also has a full bar. Although the beer list only includes a few domestics and imported Mexican brews, it offers an extensive menu of margaritas including original creations like La Sandia with fresh watermelon puree and La Flor with a house hibiscus syrup.
Following the November 20 reopening, Sabor will be open seven days a week. Hours are 9 am-10 pm, Monday to Thursday; 8 am-10 pm, Friday to Saturday; and 8 am-2:30 pm on Sunday.
