Waffle-y good
San Antonio's homegrown fried chicken and waffles chain swoops into Northwest Side

Why did the chicken cross the road? To open a new location of Mr. C’s Fried Chicken & Waffles.
According to a manager, the casual Southern eatery is just days away from opening its second outpost at 9390 Huebner Rd. The employee tells CultureMap that the restaurant hopes to open by July 29, though that date may be slightly delayed.
Mr. C's has been rapidly expanding since opening its first restaurant at 7907 West Loop 1604 N., Ste. 102 in October 2018. This past March, it branched out with its first New Braunfels location.
The comfort food menu will carry over from the previous stores. Fans expect sandwiches, chicken and waffles, and mains like smothered chopped steak, fried catfish, shrimp and grits, meatloaf, and skillet mac ’n’ cheese.
Naturally, there will also be an assortment of deep-fried sides and starters. The crunchy choices include pickle spears, green beans, green tomatoes, okra, chicken skins, and gizzards.
The new location will also serve up the restaurant's breakfast favorites like pancakes, omelets, biscuits and gravy, hash, and several diner-style egg and waffle plates.
Initially the new Mr. C’s will operate with limited daytime hours from 10:30 am to 3 pm and will only serve lunch. Full all-day hours will be launched shortly after.
