Alcohol delivery service Drizly, one of the first in the game, has expanded its Texas reach, launching in San Antonio and Houston on Thursday, May 11.
San Antonians can now order liquor, beer, wine, ice, mixers, and accouterments online or through the Drizly app, which is available for Apple and Android devices. There's a flat delivery fee of $5, no matter how large the order — and that includes one-hour delivery and scheduled drop-offs. Customers can also reserve products for in-store pickup free of charge.
The Boston-based service, which launched in 2012, delivers in 40 markets across the country, including Austin, Dallas, and, now, San Antonio and Houston.
"Texas is an important market for Drizly and we are glad to offer a truly revolutionary way to shop for alcohol in San Antonio," says CEO and co-founder Nick Rellas in a release. "Not only do consumers experience a convenient, transparent marketplace to shop for alcohol, but our San Antonio retail partners now have access to our customer base, inventory tools, delivery infrastructure, and more."
Local retailers include Don's & Ben's Liquor, Five Palms Liquors, Gabriel's Liquor & Wine, J&G Liquor, Live Oak Wine & Spirits, and Seazar's Fine Wine & Spirits. The local service area extends to Boerne and San Marcos, but not all of San Antonio is included in the launch. The current delivery zone is centered around the North Side.
The neighborhoods served are: Alamo Heights, Bracken, Downtown, Castle Hills, Cross Mountain, East San Antonio, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park, Kirby, Leon Springs, Live Oak, Longhorn, North Central, Northeast, Olmos Park, Ridgeview, Selma, Shavano Park, Shearer Hills, Stone Oak, Terrell Hills, Timberwood Park, Tobin Hill, and Uptown.
