Popular taco chain scorching into new San Antonio location this summer

One popular taco chain is on a roll in San Antonio. On February 19, a rep from Torchy’s Tacos confirmed that a new location is popping up at 18210 Sonterra Place on the North Side this summer.
Known for new school tacos and a playful devil mascot, the chain has been expanding its footprint across Texas. It first entered the San Antonio market in December 2014 with an outpost at the Shops at Lincoln Heights, followed by the August 2018 opening of a second shop at 17627 La Cantera Pkwy. in The Rim.
As with all of its restaurants, the new Torchy’s will serve tacos like the wildly popular fried avocado; The Brushfire with Jamaican jerk chicken; Mr. Pink with guajillo served ahi tuna; The Crossroads with smoked beef brisket and onions; and its trio of bipartisan offerings — the Democrat, Republican, and Independent.
Breakfast tacos range from simple combos like bacon, egg, and cheese and potato and bean to more outrageous creations like the Dirty Sanchez, a vegetarian staple combining scrambled eggs, fried poblano chile, guacamole, escabeche carrots, cheddar, and poblano sauce.
In addition to the tacos, Torchy’s offers a few lighter items like the Airstream salad with greens, avocado, grilled corn, peppadew peppers, and Cotija cheese; desserts like brownies and cookie dough bites; and its famous green chile queso. It’s not yet clear what the new location will offer for libations. The newer Torchy’s usually offer a full bar with margaritas, but a few outposts only offer beer and wine.
Since construction is just beginning, the company does not yet have a solid date for the opening. The rep says they are shooting to debut late summer.
