Hill Country Realtor's proven method puts the focus on your dreams

Pam Powell has a method, and it's simple yet revolutionary: she sits down with her clients and lets them do the talking.

The Broker Associate for Kuper Sotheby's International Real Estate is focused on what her clients are looking for out of life, their hopes and dreams for the place they call home, and their expectations of their time with her.

A member of a multi-generational Texas family, Powell knew from her first visit to New Braunfels and the Texas Hill Country that she couldn't wait to get back. In 2002 she made the move and has called it home ever since. She also calls it "the big middle": the middle of Texas, the middle of the action, and the middle of the best waterfront on dry land.

"Lazy oak trees dot the landscape, and we all love the vast fields of bluebonnets flowering in the spring," she says. "Swimming holes, fishing holes, and rivers and lakes abound. Whether folks are jumping off the rope swing at a blue hole or floating the river, a great day ends with mouth-watering barbecue, Shiner beer, and wurst."

In her nearly two decades of selling real estate, Powell has achieved the Five Star Agent award for providing top-notch service and earned the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation.

Powell also enjoys giving back to her community through such fantastic organizations as Walk for Alzheimer's, the Rotary Clubs of America, the Chamber of Commerce of New Braunfels, and other civic groups. When she's not working or contributing, she can be found hiking, playing tennis, and practicing yoga.

We chatted with Powell to find out more about her work and what drives her.

CultureMap: What inspires you to do what you do?

Pam Powell: The adventure of it! The detective work, investigation, discovery, and victory.

CM: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to people looking for their dream home?

PP: Life changes and so do we. Our dreams change as we grow. Keep moving forward.

CM: And advice to those who are selling?

PP: Glad you took the advice in No. 2. I can help you sell the last dream home and find your new one.

CM: Sum up New Braunfels in three words.

PP: Fun, family, freedom.

CM: What do you consider your "special skill”?

PP: I am a miracle worker. I do my best to listen to the motivations of my clients and help them achieve their goals.

CM: What's one thing people might not know about you?

PP: I am a published poet and in one of the Who's Who books

CM: Finish the sentence: "It's a good day when..."

PP: When I can see the sun and have another day to live my passion.
