7 new stores and eateries to debut at San Antonio's booming La Cantera

Herman Miller is the brand behind icons like the Eames lounge chair and ottoman.
Alamo City’s The Shops at La Cantera is giving locals seven new reasons to shop, stroll, and sip. In early 2026, the Northwest Side retail hub is expanding its roster with new-to-San Antonio shops and restaurants, from a buzzy wine bar to a cult-favorite furniture brand.
The major announcement is the addition of Alamo City’s first Herman Miller store. The brand is synonymous with Mid-Century modern design, producing such icons as the Noguchi table, the Marshmallow sofa, and the Eames lounge chair and ottoman. The company is also responsible for the invention of the cubicle. Even legends have bad days.
The remaining six concepts have been teased by state filings. Herman Miller will be joined by two other home furnishings giants, making La Cantera a one-stop shop for interior design. Ohio’s Arhaus specializes in sustainable sofas and tables with an aesthetic similar to Pottery Barn or RH. Crate & Barrel is known for its unfussy furniture that blends contemporary lines with traditional finishes.
San Antonio fashionistas can look forward to three new boutiques. Free People spinoff FP Movement blends the label’s signature boho chic with high-performance activewear. Although the label is sold at a mini-shop inside the main Free People store, this will be Alamo City’s first standalone store.
Both of the accessory stores are known for eco-conscious designs. Footwear sensation Rothy’s recycles plastic bottles to knit comfortable, 3D-printed shoes. Brilliant Earth uses recycled metals and ethically mined gems to make stunning engagement rings and other trinkets.

Lastly, local shoppers will have a swanky new spot to show off all their duds courtesy of Sixty Vines. The wine-focused restaurant pours 60 wines on tap, paired with savory snacks like charcuterie, cheeses, bacon-wrapped dates, fried chicken topped with caviar, and grilled golden beets.
The growing collection of concepts, which includes TikTok-famous newcomer La La Land Kind Cafe, has made The Shops of La Cantera one of the nation’s premier retail destinations. In June, USA Today readers named it the best shopping center in the U.S.
“These first-to-market brands help us as we continue to curate extraordinary experiences for our guests,” says Brian Schroeder, senior general manager of The Shops at La Cantera, in a release. “We welcome them to San Antonio and our unique shopping destination.”
