San Antonio tween launches active skincare line for girls
Stellar Beauty Co.'s packaging is keyed to Generation Alpha.
For those who can still feel the sting of Sea Breeze on their faces, San Antonio’s latest beauty launch might make them feel old. 12-year-old beauty mogul Stella Dorazio has created a skincare line, Stellar Beauty Co., at the same age many Zoomers were collecting Bratz dolls.
Stellar is aimed at Dorazio’s peers, but it isn’t exactly the same as the amber Neutrogena bars once common at every tween’s sink. The product suite is designed as a routine instead of a one-step solution and specifically geared towards active girls.
Avid golfer Dorazio, who developed the line with her mother, Mallory Dorazio, was inspired by her own packed calendar of sports, camps, and school. Rather than adapting adult products, she formulated a four-step regimen that is designed for growing skin that is exposed to sweat, chlorine, and plenty of sun.
"Stellar started because I wanted skincare that felt like it was made for girls like me," explained Dorazio in a release. "I wanted products that were fun and easy to use, but also gentle enough for growing skin and designed for all the things I love to do.”Stellar’s initial product line includes:
- Passion Pop Smash Cleanser – A gentle, hydrating cleanser
- Coco Rush Punch Moisturizer – A lightweight daily moisturizer
- Splash Face Mist – A soothing, after-sun facial mist
- Glow Guard Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 – A sheer broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen with 17.5% zinc oxide
For now, the products are only available online. Although priced a little higher than drugstore brands at $16-$27, Stellar says it is uniquely formulated to protect the skin barrier for girls aged 8-12.
