Luxe Italian body treatment pops up at posh San Antonio resort

University of Texas at San Antonio students will have a little more rizz heading into football season. Thrift at the Warehouse, the resale chain known for its on-trend curation, is opening a new location at the Camino Bandera Square shopping center at 9703 Bandera Rd.

“We’ve been sitting on this one for a minute, and we can FINALLY tell y’all,” wrote the business on Instagram. “More details sooooon. For now, just know your new favorite place to thrift is about to be a whole lot closer.”

Owner Tony Marlowe, the self-styled “Thrift King of Texas,” first started the business as a literal warehouse selling finds through Facebook Marketplace. Since then, it has become one of San Antonio’s go-to spots for thrifting thanks, in part, to some clever branding — the zebra stripe paint jobs on each building’s facade.

Depending on the birth year, Thrift at the Warehouse might make some locals feel old. The selection is heavy with Y2K staples like Umbro soccer shorts, Aeropostale polos, and Ed Hardy cropped T-shirts. In-store, the selection is sorted by trends so shoppers can quickly build a look.

The pricing is generally affordable, with many pieces falling well below $20. It’s even cheaper when the locations host “fill a bag” events, where shoppers can get a new wardrobe for $15.

In a video walkthrough posted August 28, Marlowe gave a preview of how the former Fitness 365 was taking shape. The ground floor will carry the store’s usual curated goods, while the upstairs will feature a lounge and more special vintage finds. In all, the 7,000-square-foot space will carry about 10,000 units of clothing.

Although the shop’s website says the Bandera Road location opened September 1, work is still ongoing. After the debut, the store will be open from 10 am- 8 pm daily.
