Nu-metal band Staind stops in San Antonio for 2027 anniversary tour
Staind will be in San Antonio March 20, 2027.
Staind's TikTok-fueled second act is headed for San Antonio. The nu-metal hitmakers have announced a second leg of their Break the Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour, including a stop at Frost Bank Center on March 20, 2027.
Staind was one of the more bankable stars of the spelling-averse musical era that brought acts like Limp Bizkit and Korn to the mainstream. Break the Cycle, released in 2001, spent three weeks at the top of the album charts and has sold more than seven million units in the U.S.
Unlike its contemporaries, however, Staind didn’t rely on constant bombast. Their breakout hit, "It's Been Awhile," is almost a ballad, and their frequent acoustic sets showed more melodic leanings than their nu-metal contemporaries.
That approach may explain why yesterday’s teen angst is now the soundtrack to “aesthetic” TikTok videos. Deep cut "Warm Safe Place” has taken off as one of the app’s favorite sounds, leading to an outbreak of covers, lip-syncs, and corecore edits. That surge, the release of Break the Cycle (Live), and the anniversary tour have made 2026 the biggest year in the band's history.
"It was 1993 when I met Mike [Mushok — founding guitarist] at a Christmas party,” said frontman Aaron Lewis in a release. “If you told me we would be doing this in 2026, I’d have laughed at you. This has truly been the most amazing ride we could have ever possibly been on, and it’s been the most amazing experience that you could have ever provided us.”
General tickets for the bill, which includes post-grunge fellow travelers Seether, Hoobastank, and Hinder, will go on sale Friday, October 9 at 10 am at Ticketmaster. Fans can get presale access by signing up for Frost Bank Center's All Access Newsletter and selecting the "Rock" genre.
Although Staind will be in Houston on October 17 and Austin on October 19, the San Antonio visit is one of only two Texas shows scheduled for 2027. The band will also hit Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion on March 19, 2027.
