Popular Spring Branch restaurant to open first San Antonio location

Screaming Goat Yard is known for live music, Southern fare, and a herd of friendly goats.
Spring Branch’s Screaming Goat Yard is still readying its first San Antonio location, but it appears a few plans have changed. The restaurant and taproom is on track to open at 7422 N Loop 1604 W by the end of 2026.
The playful concept first filed Texas regulatory paperwork for the San Antonio outpost in November 2024 with plans to wrap up construction in summer 2025. The original address listed, 14242 W Loop 1604, has since been amended, but both point to nearby plots near the H-E-B College Park store.
Screaming Goat Yard first opened in 2021. Its expansive outdoor area included a stage for live music, fire pits, and open space for dogs and its herd of goats, including the mischievous Oreo and the demure Loa.
Although the restaurant has not released the San Antonio menu, Spring Branch dishes up New Orleans classics, such as fried green tomatoes, crawfish étouffée, and Nashville hot chicken, served with flaky beignets. It does make one detour — a signature XL Bavarian Pretzel served with Shiner Bock beer cheese and Creole mustard.
On the drinks side, beer is the main event with an expansive list that includes domestic favorites with Texas craft beers from Real Ale, Altstadt, Meanwhile Brewing, and Star Republic. Cocktails cover everything from espresso martinis to sotol margaritas, supplemented with a lengthy mocktail program for those who don’t imbibe.
So far, Screaming Goat has stayed mum on the new project, but an employee previously confirmed that a new location was in the works. The concept, however, seems to be gearing up for an imminent debut with recent public notices of its mixed beverage license application and several job listings for kitchen staff.
