1. Upscale restaurant shutters in major Southtown San Antonio shakeup. There's a major dining upheaval in Southtown: Up Scale, one of the city’s toniest restaurants, is shuttering on April 6, owners Emily and Houston Carpenter of Carpenter Carpenter Hospitality revealed in a March 26 Instagram post. The company’s popular coastal concept, Little Em’s Oyster Bar, will take its place at 1024 S. Alamo St. in late fall, they said.
2. Lil Wayne and local bands float through 2 outdoorsy Central Texas music fests in 2024. Two popular Central Texas music festivals have revealed their lineups and dates in the spring and fall of 2024: Austin and San Marcos' vibrant Float Fest and Dale's long-running Old Settler's Music Festival.
3. San Antonio teen advances on American Idol playing up her youthful niche. Another season of American Idol — this one makes 22 — is now on air, and singers are very familiar with the drill. Some of them are not even as old as the show, including San Antonio's Liliana Tovar Dalton, who really leaned into her teenage status and appealed on potential and an original song. Her audition, which took place in the season's final round, aired on Sunday, March 24.
