The Outdoor Family Film Series will kick off with a screening of 'Luca."
Maybe there won’t be any celebs, but San Antonio’s Mission Marquee Plaza is rolling out the red carpet for another year of cinematic memories. The annual Outdoor Family Film Series returns May 2, kicking off seven months of screenings of nostalgic favorites and animated blockbusters.
The showings — held at the historic Mission Drive-In Theater — are open to everyone in the community (even those named Rover). And locals who want to avoid the heat have plenty of options with a series that runs until November 21.Films screen the first and third Saturday of every month, as well as the third Thursday of the month, giving San Antonians plenty of opportunities to unwind with the summer tradition.
Each evening features entertainment and food trucks. Attendees are also encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks.
“We are excited to offer another season of free community programming at Mission Marquee Plaza,” said Colleen Swain, Director of the city’s World Heritage Office, in a release. “With the support of the community and partners like H-E-B, we are excited to continue to build opportunities for people to gather and make lasting memories.”
