Upcoming San Antonio entertainment venue brings game shows to life
Game Show Battle Rooms is taking San Antonio for a spin.
A Minneapolis-based entertainment venue will soon press its luck in San Antonio. Game Show Battle Rooms, where funseekers get to step inside the glitzy worlds of The Price Is Right and Family Feud, is opening its first Alamo City location inside the Landmark North shopping center at 5518 N. Loop 1604 W.
Game Show Battle Rooms was founded in 2017 by college pals David Sauer and Kevin Letnes. Since then, it has been rapidly growing across the United States, including three locations in Texas.
Each of the facilities is outfitted with mini-arena game rooms, where parties can sign up for two experiences: Classic or Primetime Showdowns. Each has three games ranging from Survey Battles, a “friendly feud,” to Spin to What’s That Cost, where (ahem) pricing has to be just right.
An enthusiastic host adds to the excitement, along with lights, sound effects, and convincing sets. And personalized name tags and a scoreboard take the experience to full Bob Barker.
While winners don't get to take home a brand-new car or even a year’s supply of Sizzlelean, they do get a photo with a trophy that appears on the Wall of Fame. That makes the venues an ideal spot for corporate team building — or at least an opportunity to settle grievances between Brenda in accounting and Chuck in HR. The business typically welcomes groups of up to 12, although no exact San Antonio details have been revealed.
According to a newly filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation timeline, the first Alamo City outpost is set to finish construction in early January 2027. Game Show Battle Rooms did not immediately return a request for more information.
