1. San Antonio's 8 best bars of 2024 are lifting the city's spirits. Some are upscale lounges and others rough-and-tumble honky-tonks, but all of the nominees for the CultureMap Tastemaker Award for Bar of the Year have that all-too-rare ease. Here are the nominees.
2. New Braunfels is among best Texas cities to move to in 2024. Move over, San Antonio: New Braunfels was just named the No. 3 best Texas city to move to in 2024. The city came out on top in a new population analysis by USA Today Homefront, published February 19, that examined 52 Texas cities across 19 key indicators, including school quality, affordability, entertainment, and more.
3. Geekdom to unveil new space to San Antonio entrepreneurs at next Startup Day. Startup owners are quick to make connections, and many more will be made at the newly expanded Geekdom headquarters, which had an opening celebration on March 6 during Geekdom's quarterly San Antonio Startup Day.
4. San Antonio is the 3rd best U.S. city for Black professionals, report finds. In February, a new report compiled by Black employees at online rental marketplace Apartment List ranked San Antonio the No. 3 best U.S. city for Black professionals.
5. San Antonio's Brackenridge Park plots year of fun for milestone birthday. Brackenridge Park Conservancy, the nonprofit stewards of the land are marking its milestone 125th birthday with a year-long slate of events, fundraisers, and community get-togethers culminating with a birthday bash.
