FESTIVAL SEASON
Taylor Swift tribute headlines San Antonio Barbacoa and Big Red Fest

No, that's not Taylor Swift, but it's still pretty close.
Call it the Eras Tour: Barbacoa and Big Red Version. A Dallas-based band known for its faithful covers of Taylor Swift’s greatest hits is among the newly announced headliners of San Antonio’s annual celebration of Alamo City’s most puro food and drink combo. The Barbacoa and Big Red Festival will return to the Freeman Coliseum and Expo Hall on October 11-12.
The annual party has been slowly leaking the musical performers all summer, but has held off on the full lineup until September 18. As always, the performers span a wide array of genres from Tejano and conjunto to country and rock. A mysterious guest will start the day on Saturday, October 11. Maybe Bad Bunny changed his mind about touring the U.S.?
The full lineup includes:
- Justin Gallegos
- Passing Strangers
- Corey Weaver
- Vinny Tovar
- The Delta Boyz
- Drew Brown Band
- Texas Double Shot
- Roel Martinez

Started in 20212, the Barbacoa and Big Red Festival offers plenty of sodas and tacos, but guests can also take a break with other nonalcoholic drinks, beer, and Fiesta-style foods like chicken on a stick. A variety of vendors and play zones for kids add to the fun.
However, first-timers should be aware that the ticket is not all-inclusive. General admission is only $8.29, but food is sold separately. The festival has also recently released a VIP tier for $24.12, which has perks like a reserved concert seating area, a dedicated bar, and a keepsake lanyard.
The Barbacoa and Big Red Festival runs October 11-12 at the Freeman Coliseum and Expo Hall, 3201 E. Houston St. Hours are 4-11 pm on Saturday and 10 am-midnight on Sunday.
