Sting swings through Texas to support first rock album in 10 years

Sting, former frontman of The Police and longtime solo artist, will return to Texas with three concert dates in February 2017.
The North American leg of his upcoming 57th & 9th tour will hit 24 cities, starting with Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 1. Sting plays Austin on February 19, Dallas on February 20, and Sugar Land on February 23, as well as 14 cities in Europe and the United Kingdom.
Sting is touring in support of his new album, also titled 57th & 9th. After spending more than a decade dabbling in musical genres like classical and jazz, 57th & 9th represents Sting's first rock/pop project since 2003's Sacred Love.
Special guests on the tour will include singer/songwriter Joe Sumner and San Antonio-based Tex-Mex band, the Last Bandoleros, who provided backing vocals on the new album.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale Monday, November 21. Every ticket purchased online includes a digital download of 57th & 9th. Members of the official Sting.com fan club will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance beginning Tuesday, November 15. Citi cardmembers can also take advantage of a special presale opportunity, taking place Thursday, November 17, through Sunday, November 20.
