ACL Artists Revealed
Austin City Limits Music Festival unveils big-name lineup for 2016
Austin City Limits Music Festival is back with big names for its 15th year.
Early Thursday morning, festival programmers released the full 2016 lineup. Radiohead, Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Major Lazer, and Kygo are among this year's headliners. This will mark the first ACL Fest appearances for Radiohead — who just released a new music video and single — and folk rock band Mumford & Sons.
Other noteworthy acts on the bill include Willie Nelson, M83, Haim, Cage the Elephant, Kacey Musgraves, Two Door Cinema Club, LL Cool J, Band of Horses, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Andra Day, Young the Giant, Die Antwoord, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, and many more.
Most artists will perform during both weekends of ACL Fest, taking place September 30-October 2 and October 7-9. However, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, and Andrew Bird are scheduled for the first weekend while Willie Nelson, Anderson .Paak, Awolnation, Conor Oberst, Atlas Genius, and others will only play the second weekend.
As ACL is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, we can expect the festival to have a few surprises up its sleeves. Organizers will also make changes to better the experience this year. Updates include stage adjustments, shade at the Austin Kiddie Limits, and a dedicated family entrance as well as more water stations and healthy snack options.
ACL Fest's two-weekend run is September 30-October 2 and October 7-9 at Zilker Park in Austin. Three-day passes go on sale for $255 at 10 am on Thursday, May 5. One-day tickets will be released at a later date for $100 a pop. And, for the first time ever, ACL Fest will also release one-day VIP tickets for $450.
