San Antonio entrepreneur launches ambitious new women's social club

Spas, childcare, and social spaces are part of The Village.
No one can accuse San Antonio entrepreneur Laney Cloud of lacking ambition. Her newest project, a members-only social club named The Village at 723 S. Flores St near Southtown, takes on the task of nurturing women’s lives — from professional growth to private self-care.
“Women are managing incredibly complex lives, and almost every room we walk into requires something from us,” explains Cloud in a release. “I wanted to create a space where that expectation completely drops at the front door.”
Cloud, a former vice president at the tech transit company Via, is no stranger to that complexity, spending most of her career in high-growth startups. But the Village goes well beyond “girlboss” cliches. The Village makes room for a restaurant, bar, lounge, gym, coworking spaces, and a private event hall. Workshops will appeal to diverse interests and life stages, while an on-site childcare facility, Little Village, will help harried parents with ease of mind.
Members will also be able to relax at the neighboring spa. Mimi's, named after Cloud’s grandmother, was designed to feel familiar, offering beauty and wellness treatments in a homey environment. Unlike the Village, it will be open to the general public.

Women-led spaces are on the rise nationwide, from gyms to coworking offices. Increasingly, there is a market for environments that center the needs and expectations of women from the inception rather than as an afterthought.
“We are creating The Village to simplify our lives by designing a place to focus, restore, and connect under one roof,” adds Cloud. “The goal is to build a community where connection happens without trying, so having a village simply becomes the natural undertone of our members' lives.”
The Village, slated to open in late 2026, has not yet announced membership pricing, but interested women can join the waiting list online. Mimi's is scheduled to debut in early 2027.
