How to score tickets to see Shaquille O'Neal's podcast in San Antonio
San Antonio, are you ready for a Shaq attack? Basketball legend and Kazaam star Shaquille O’Neal will be in the Alamo City on April 5 to record a live episode of his popular show The Big Podcast, where he shares his humorous takes on sports, life, and pop culture. Find out below how you can be part of the audience.
The episode will be taped at East Side sports bar Home Room at 517 Live Oak St. Each $34 ticket includes a drink ticket, a meal voucher for any onsite food truck, and samples of the hoopster’s signature treat, including the official gummy of March Madness Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies. To quench their thirst, guests can sip complimentary Lunazul tequila cocktails, sour pineapple gummy Slurpees, or Shaq’s Blueberry Lemonade party punch made with Austin company BeatBox.
O’Neal is no stranger to the San Antonio area. He grew up at Fort Sam Houston and went to Cole High School. He is still a Texas resident with a home in Dallas, where he recently launched Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival.
In fact, his time as a military kid inspired his entrepreneurial endeavors. He discovered gummy bears while living on a German base. The childhood obsession led him to develop a gummy line with Hershey with shapes inspired by his nicknames — Diesel, The Big Cactus, and The Big Shamrock — and his famous face.
Adam Lefkoe will join the gentle giant. Though less well-known than his cohost, the sportscaster is familiar to fans of Bleacher Report or NBA on TNT. Pop culture savants might also remember him for a viral 2013 stunt where he made 41 Seinfeld references during a five-minute sportscast.
The Big Podcast Live Event will occur between 1-5 pm at the near-downtown sports bar. The episode will begin its live taping at 2:30 pm.
