Google reveals the most popular San Antonio searches for 2016
No one does an end-of-year list quite like Google. The tech giant just released its annual Year in Search, giving us an inside look at what our neighbors — and those around the world — were searching for in 2016.
Like the rest of the world, San Antonio was tuned into the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, our city's top overall search term. And while we cared about the election like the rest of the U.S., surprisingly, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton weren't among our top searches.
In addition to overall trending searches, Google provided a breakdown of local trending terms in four categories: news, people, movies, and near me. Here are San Antonio's top search terms for 2016:
