New golf megastore swings into San Antonio with first area location
The PGA Tour Superstore chain teed up its 50th location December 4 with the opening of its shop at the Blanco Market Shopping Center in North San Antonio.
The new store, measuring 34,000 square feet, is at 18450 Blanco Rd., near Loop 1604. It’s the company’s first and only store in San Antonio, though the chain has eight other locations throughout Texas, and the new store marks the company’s 50th.
In conjunction with the grand opening, PGA Tour Superstore donated $15,000 to First Tee of Greater San Antonio, a nonprofit that teaches kids how to play golf.
“By its very nature, golf is a game that brings people together. It’s a game that keeps us fit and engaged, and a fun way to spend time with friends and family,” Dick Sullivan, president and CEO of Roswell, Georgia-based PGA Tour Superstore, says in a news release. “With nearly 40 golf courses in the San Antonio area, we’re excited to welcome both new and seasoned golfers into our store for all of their golf needs.”
Features of the new store include:
- A 1,300-square-foot putting green.
- A fitting studio that matches customers with the proper golf gear.
- Interactive golf simulators.
- Practice bays.
Golf & Tennis Pro Shop Inc. operates the PGA Tour Superstore chain. The company is the PGA Tour’s exclusive retail partner in North America.
