Women in the Workplace
These Texas companies rank as best places for women to work

Texas is a great place to work if you’re a woman, according to a new survey by Fortune.com. Out of the 100 best workplaces for women, 11 are in Texas, including No. 1 Texas Health Resources in Arlington.
Five other Lone Star companies are in the top 20: Prime Lending in Dallas (5), Texas Rehabilitation Hospital in Fort Worth (8), Camden Property Trust in Houston (13), Granite Properties in Plano (14), and Container Store in Coppell (19).
The survey, conducted in partnership with Great Place to Work, was based on feedback from more than 137,762 women at Great Place to Work-certified companies. The women were asked to answer an anonymous trust index survey that included questions about what constitutes a great workplace — i.e., how fairly they're treated, the quality and authenticity of communications with managers, and equitable pay and promotion practices.
Companies landing a spot on the list stood out as being great places for women to work and had a high representation of women in the total employee population and in management positions.
Two other Houston companies land on the list: Transwestern and Houston Methodist at Nos. 60 and 71, respectively. San Antonio’s USAA is No. 73. Dallas-area companies Ryan (76) and Momentous Institute (89) appear as well.
