Really?
Surprising town named most exciting city in Texas and we beg to differ
When you think of the word "exciting," what comes to mind? Eating at a new restaurant? Exploring the outdoors? Catching a live show? College Station?
Yep, you heard us. According to a new list from Gogobot, College Station is the most exciting city in Texas, ranking ahead of everywhere else in the Lone Star State. To determine the rankings, Gogobot used the number of bars, restaurants, hotels, and outdoor spaces per capita to create a composite score for each city.
With a huge student population to satiate, College Station is home to a surprising number of entertainment options per capita. According to Gogobot, College Station "ranked fifth or better in all the categories we surveyed."
Austin, No. 2 on the list, is followed by Waco, No. 3; Amarillo, No. 4; and Abilene, No. 5. The exciting cities list is rounded out with Houston, No. 6; Denton, No. 7; Beaumont, No. 8; Dallas, No. 9; and San Antonio, No. 10.
So what does Alamo City get props for? "As the second biggest city in Texas, San Antonio has all the amenities necessary to accommodate its residents as well as its visitors," writes Gogobot. With an astonishing 26 million tourists every year, San Antonio ranks ninth in hotels per capita.
