San Antonio's first-ever Mala Luna Music Festival ends on a high note
Over 30,000 fans packed Lone Star Brewery for the inaugural Mala Luna Music Festival on October 29-30. And the sold-out crowd proved that Alamo City can support high-profile fests.
The two-day affair brought in some of the buzziest names in EDM and hip-hop, including Kaskade, Travis Scott, G-Eazy, Steve Aoki, Tory Lanez, Lil Yachty, Rae Sremmurd, and more.
"We felt the inaugural year of Mala Luna would work best if we focused on EDM and hip-hop and then grow from there," said Zach Paul, event producer, in an interview. "To have these types of headliners the inaugural year of the fest is very exciting for us, and the reaction and feedback we have gotten from the fans thus far has been amazing."
But this festival was about more than just music. A collaboration with Centro San Antonio brought in visual artists to create live installations on the grounds. Mala Luna also featured food, fun vendors, and other unique elements that celebrated Halloween and Diá de los Muertos.
"We want Mala Luna to be a reflection of the culture and the people of San Antonio," Paul told CultureMap. Scroll through the photos above for some of the highlights.
