Where to eat in San Antonio right now: 10 best restaurants for gluten-free eats
Eating gluten-free is more popular than ever, and you've requested a guide to gluten-free goodness. So, this month we take a look at 10 popular restaurants where you can go gluten-free.
Bird Bakery
All of Bird Bakery's delicious cupcake flavors and custom cakes can be made gluten-free. Don't wait for a special occasion to treat yourself and others — a "Happy Monday" cake for the office might be in order.
Mash'd
Mash'd makes gluten-free fun with an extensive menu of food and drinks. A standout dish is the Babyback Sandwich with roasted baby back ribs (off the bone) with moonshine barbecue sauce on gluten-free buns.
Paloma Blanca
This Mexican eatery also has a dedicated gluten-free and Paleo-friendly menu, ensuring you won't leave hungry. We had the caldotlapeño, a spicy chicken soup with tomato, cilantro, garbanzo beans, and fresh avocado. It was a stunner.
Pam's Patio Kitchen
Many dishes at Pam's are naturally gluten-free and your server will guide you through items of notable importance. The pad Thai with beef, shrimp, chicken, and fat rice noodles was the favorite of the table.
Piatti
Piatti has gluten-free pasta that can be substituted for most regular items on the menu. Want to skip the carbs? Try the amazing shaved zucchini "tagliatelle" with grilled chicken, toasted pine nuts, and spinach.
Piranha Killer Sushi
There are plenty of naturally gluten-free rolls, appetizers, and veggie-friendly options at Piranha to satisfy that sushi craving. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable when we requested spicy dishes.
Stella Public House
Stella Public House has gluten-free pizza that is absolutely divine. We had the Margherita with added pepperoni at our server’s suggestion; it was perfect and the crust was flawless.
SweetFire Kitchen at La Cantera Resort & Spa
The menu at SweetFire Kitchen had us marveling at its simplicity. Items are marked gluten-free and vegetarian, which made the experience rather easy. We couldn't get enough of the barbecue shrimp with cream cheese grits, bacon-bourbon jus, and Gulf crawfish.
Tre Enoteca
Gluten-free pasta is available at Tre Enoteca upon request. That means you can enjoy tasty dishes like house-made gnocchi with lamb ragu and a fresh bolognese without the guilt.
Wholesome Eating
This small eatery has it all. Wholesome Eating caters specifically to the gluten-free, Paleo, and ketogenic crowd. The mission is craft food that is both gourmet and healthy, and it's accomplished nicely with their breads and cookies.
