San Antonio Park Foundation presents Jazz in the Garden
Jazz musician Joe Posada performs live at the Japanese Tea Garden at the final installment of the al fresco concert series. Guests to the free event can enjoy food and beverages, views of the koi pond and waterfall, and the seasonal blooms throughout the garden while live music fills the air. Furry friends are welcome on a leash.
Blue Star Contemporary presents “Fünf” opening reception
Artists from the Blue Star Contemporary’s Berlin Residency make their debut at this special opening. The display chronicles five years of the residency program and includes installations and large-scale drawings by featured talent Amanda Miller, Andrei Renteria, Ethel Shipton, and Jared Theis. Following the reception, the exhibition will be on display through September 8.
Circle Brewing Co. presents Beer For All: Fanny Pack SATX Launch with Equality TX
A brand-new beer is unveiled just in time for Pride Month. Circle Brewing Company invites locals (of drinking age) to enjoy the new Fanny Pack Kolsch at The Friendly Spot. Adorned with a rainbow label, the new release takes a stance against discrimination toward LGBTQI locals while also celebrating the richness of the queer community far beyond just the Alamo City. Attendees can also snag signature glassware and enjoy fanny pack giveaways during the boozy bash.
Majestic Theatre presents Kinky Boots
Hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots takes to the Majestic Theatre stage in full fabulous fury. Inspired by true events, the story takes audiences on a journey from a gentlemen’s shoe factory to the fashion-forward catwalks of Milan after an unlikely, stiletto-wearing savior comes into the picture. Tickets to the six-time, Tony Award-winning production are still available. Performances through June 9.

Comedian Gary Owens comes to the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre to tape live for his upcoming Showtime special. Since making his breakout debut on BET’s Comic View in 1997, the entertainer has gone on to take roles in films, television series, and a continued standup career. Tickets for both June 8 performances are still available.
