Frontier launches 5 new nonstop routes from San Antonio with celebratory low fares
Tis the season for airlines to announce their new routes (and the deals that come along with them) and San Antonio is landing five nonstop routes that are seriously first class.
On April 9, low-cost airline Frontier celebrated the launch of five brand new destinations from Alamo City — and the seasonal return of two favorites — during a ribbon cutting ceremony at San Antonio International Airport.
Beginning this week, Frontier will now offer weekly nonstop service from SAT to Colorado Springs, Colorado; Cincinnati, Ohio; Orlando, Florida; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and San Jose, California.
In addition to the new offerings, Frontier is restarting some of its more popular routes. Running now through summer 2018, Frontier will offer nonstop flights from SAT to Philadelphia and Atlanta. Coupled with the new routes, this make Frontier the second largest airline at SAT.
“These new flights offer travelers access to some of the most popular destinations with icons and landmarks like Walt Disney World, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Garden of the Gods," said Russ Handy, aviation director for the City of San Antonio, in a release. "This is also an opportunity for tourists in these cities to visit the number one tourism destination in Texas: San Antonio.”
In celebration of the news, Frontier is offering low-cost deals on many of its routes, including a special $59 fare one-way from San Antonio to Orlando.
The announcement came among a slew of new routes for the carrier. In total, Frontier has added 69 new nonstop routes and restarted 40 seasonal favorite in the month of April.
