COMING ATTRACTIONS
All-you-can-eat Wagyu buffet makes Texas debut in San Antonio

All Wagyu Factory locations have a sleek interior, although the San Antonio outpost might look a little different.
Want to eat top-quality beef until the cows come home? Wagyu Factory, an offshoot of the viral Chubby Group hospitality firm, is opening its first Texas restaurant at 11745 I-10, offering an endless buffet of grill-your-own meats and pan-Asian favorites.
Wagyu Factory, which debuted in 2025, combines Korean barbecue-style grilling with a full buffet that includes dumplings, udon, tempura, sushi rolls and nigiri, egg tarts, and more. A sauce bar allows guests to season their selections just the way they want them.
Although the restaurant offers beef tongue, marinated wings, and pork belly, premium Japanese, Australian, and American Wagyu is the main star. The company keeps prices affordable by sourcing in massive quantities.
"Our vision for Wagyu Factory was to take premium Wagyu and make it approachable, exciting, and endlessly satisfying," said David Zhao, co-founder of Chubby Group, in a release. “We wanted to create more than just a meal. Wagyu Factory is about discovery, connection, and creating memories around the table.”
All of Chubby’s restaurants have a futuristic edge, but Wagyu Factory is a bit more whimsical with a kawaii mascot and poppy signage that would not look out of place in The Lego Movie. All are designed to make the dining experience family-friendly and fun.
Wagyu Factory has not released the exact June date for the San Antonio location. Carnivores can follow the restaurant on Instagram for updates.
A second concept from the Chubby Group, Chubby Cattle BBQ, is still to come in early 2027, according to a company rep. That concept is more of a traditional barbecue experience, but it still brings Wagyu in spades.
