SUDDEN SHUTTERS
Popular drive-thru margarita spot closes after 6 years in San Antonio

Roc-N-Ritas has shuttered its five San Antonio-area locations.
The post-pandemic buzz is over for one San Antonio area business. Roc-N-Ritas, which began pouring drive-thru margaritas during the height of COVID-19 lockdowns, has shuttered all five of its San Antonio area stores.
The closed locations include:
- 5726 Babcock Rd.
- 823 Lockhill Selma Rd.
- 2864 Thousand Oaks Dr #101
- 112 E. San Antonio Ave., Boerne
- 211 Elliot Knox Blvd, New Braunfels
“After 6 incredible years serving the Hill Country, we have made the very difficult decision to close all 5 Roc-N-Ritas locations,” wrote the business on social media. “This was not an easy choice. Roc-N-Ritas has always been more than just drinks to go — it has been about community, friendships, celebrations, and the amazing people who supported our small family-owned business from day one.”
Roc-N-Ritas quickly became popular during 2020 for offering cocktails, beer, and wine for easy pickup. Although the era’s alcohol laws have remained in place, to-go booze became less popular as bars and other public spaces were allowed to be filled to full capacity.
The business first made its mark in New Braunfels before expanding throughout the San Antonio area. In recent years, it has tried to adapt to changing customer demands, selling THC-infused drinks and boozy gummies.
Roc-N-Ritas did not share an exact reason behind the sudden shutters. A request for comment was not immediately returned.
