Revolutionary Wings was only open for about two years before waving the white flag on Instagram on Friday, March 21. It announced a closing date of Saturday, March 29, giving San Antonians a few more days to enjoy the audacious wings.

"As we go through these next days we will be open for dine in and Togo service (cash/cash app/zelle/venmo only) come on out one last time, or two, we’d love to see you and say good bye for now…" says the post. "Thank you to everyone that has supported us through the years, we made it this far because of you!"

Although Revolutionary Wings was only around for a short time, it garnered some impressive reviews.

The Flamin' Hot Cheeto wings were a popular choice and served as a visual signature thanks to their bright red color and fluffy appearance. The Blue Takis version look like a fever dream's attempt at a chicken nugget.

Others, though, had a fancier culinary touch, like the ancho coffee smoked wing or the chicken parmesan wing: an herb-crusted wing with tomato basil bruschetta, shaved parmesan, and pesto. Whether populist or haute, the more than 30 wing types on the menu never lacked creativity.

In November of 2024, owner Joshua Paprocki took to the business' Instagram account to ask for support from fans — either dining in or telling others about the restaurant.

"This place is more than just a restaurant to us; it’s a space where memories have been shared, meals have brought people together, and we’ve had the honor of serving you, our extended family," said the post. "Times have been tough, and we’re doing everything we can to keep going, but we can’t do it alone."

It worked for a while, but now it looks the revolution has lost its steam. Multiple commenters on the closing post theorized that the restaurant's location was hindering its success. Sidled up to the airport at 427 E Ramsey Rd., yet not alongside any highways, it certainly wasn't easy to stumble upon.
