Slicing Up San Antonio
Popular pizzeria brings 70 more draft beers to new San Antonio spot
New York-style pizza continues taking over San Antonio as the Denver-based Parry's Pizza & Taphouse opens yet another restaurant — all in quick succession. The chain's fourth San Antonio restaurant is located at the Cibolo Crossing shopping area and is celebrating its grand opening days on July 29 and 30.
This location (18238 N. Interstate 35, Suite 107) shares a parking lot with the Santikos Entertainment movie theater and Willie's Grill & Icehouse. For the opening celebration on Monday and Tuesday, 20 raffle winners will receive free pizza and lunch specials every week for the rest of 2024. Raffles will be held all day.
Pizza is the main draw, with lots of toppings to choose from, including classic Margherita or veggie pies, or the unique Southwestern "New Mexican Yankee" that includes roasted chicken, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, cilantro, and white ketchup.
But the clamor for Parry's comes from more than just the pies. This location presents 70 beers on draft; plus, since locations generally keep sports on the TV and offer happy hour deals, this chain draws a large snacking crowd. The Cibolo location in particular will likely be popular with for pre- and post-movie visitors.
Some of the snacks are standard pizzeria fare, like wings and dough bites tossed in parmesan and served with marinara sauce. Others are more signature, like the Italian nachos made with wonton chips, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, banana peppers, black olives, diced tomatoes, red pepper relish, and marinara.
The chain hosts donation nights throughout the year for schools, churches, and nonprofits. In San Antonio, the "Pennies from Pints" program donates a portion of pint sales to first responder nonprofit The 100 Club of San Antonio and accessible theme park Morgan's Wonderland.
The previous location was opened in Stone Oak in May 2024. This fast-growing pizza empire and the quickly accumulating online reviews suggest that Parry's Pizza is poised to become a San Antonio staple, even if it is an import.
Parry's Pizza in Cibolo is open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 am to 10 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 11 pm. Happy hour is weekdays from 3-6 pm and Sundays all day.
