Paris Baguette to open sweet new café on San Antonio’s North Side

Paris Baguette's cases are stocked with dozens of sweet and savory treats.
Cult favorite bakery Paris Baguette is bringing its je ne sais quoi to San Antonio’s North Side. The wildly popular South Korean sweets shop is building a new cafe at 5518 N. 1604 W. in the Landmark North shopping center.
Although the franchise doesn’t yet have the footprint of giants like Starbucks, it has rapidly grown to be an international phenomenon with more than 4,000 locations. The chain made its U.S. debut in Los Angeles in 2005, but only recently made inroads in San Antonio with the opening of its first cafe by downtown’s Gunter Hotel in December 2025.
Unlike most bakery chains, like La Madeleine or local favorite La Pandería, Paris Baguette focuses less on a café environment. The downtown shop is largely self-serve, allowing customers to load up boxes from stocked display cases.
The menu reflects its international audience. The bakeries whip up treats like Hawaiian mochi doughnuts and Japanese milk bread alongside French classics like pain au chocolat, palmiers, and croissants. The brand is also famous for its light Asian-style cakes, like its famous rainbow-striped offering and a whimsical cappuccino cake shaped like a coffee mug.
For a more substantial meal, some locations offer lunchtime staples such as breakfast sandwiches, tuna melts, and ham and cheese baguettes. Savory pastries include crab croquettes, pepperoni pizzetas made with laminated dough, quiches, and pig-in-a-blanket-style franks wrapped in flaky pastry.
According to a recent Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, Paris Baguette expects to wrap up renovations in August, but that estimate may not reflect an actual project timeline. A request for more information was not returned immediately.
