Chain Freeze
Popular frozen yogurt chain opens new shop in San Antonio
As San Antonio gets hotter, some cool news provides respite: frozen yogurt chain Orange Leaf is opening a new Cibolo store on Saturday, August 10. Some opening-day deals make this even sweeter.
Visitors to the store (646 W. FM 78, Ste. 145) on opening day from 1-5 pm will all get discounts: buy one, get one half-off. Plus, the first 30 people in line at the opening could win free frozen yogurt for a year.
Orange Leaf is known for its classic fro-yo experience that lets customers create their own intricate desserts with self-serve machines and more than 20 toppings. The fro-yo cakes — like ice cream cakes but...you know — are also customizable. Beyond desserts, Orange Leaf also makes smoothies and bowls with nutrition in mind.
Susana Jimenez is the owner of Orange Leaf Cibolo and an immigrant from Mexico, who has lived in San Antonio for 17 years. Her food service experience comes from working in her family's Tex-Mex restaurants. She's owned and operated her own full-service restaurants, but she got into franchising to work with more flexibility and spend time with family.
“We fell in love with Orange Leaf over a decade ago,” said Jimenez in a press release. “It’s always been the place our family frequented to make special memories, so it was an easy decision when I was looking for a new business opportunity. I’ll now have more time to dedicate to my family who, as an added bonus, will be a huge part of our Orange Leaf journey.”
This new addition is the 11th in the San Antonio area (counting two in New Braunfels). The chain was founded in 2008 in Oklahoma, and the size of the chain has fluctuated with openings and closings over the years. This one's part of a wave of new openings across Texas announced earlier in 2024.
