SUDDEN SHUTTERS
Popular San Antonio Korean BBQ joint locked out over unpaid rent

Ooh La La Korean BBQ has been locked out of its restaurant for alleged unpaid rent.
Korean barbecue restaurants might be one of San Antonio’s hottest dining trends, but one all-you-can-eat newcomer hasn’t been so lucky. Ooh La La Korean BBQ has been locked out of its 842 NW Loop 410 #107 storefront for alleged unpaid rent.
According to the January 22 lockout notice sign posted on the business’ door, Ooh La La owes $72, 417.33 in back payments to property manager DPEG North Park, LP. The restaurant has been operating at the Plaza Del Norte shopping center for less than two years.
Ooh La La officially debuted in October 2024, serving all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue at a relatively affordable price. It quickly became popular for its $21.99 weekday lunch special, which offered a selection of 15 proteins and a side of soup.
There were no public warnings that the business was struggling. The business was still actively posting on Instagram as of January 21, but has yet to officially comment on the closure.
Another Korean barbecue spot failed in Ooh La La’s same suite. Hon Machi Korean BBQ had its permit revoked in April 2024 after San Antonio health inspectors found repeated violations, according to KSAT.
An emailed request for more information about Ooh La La’s shutter was not returned in time for publication. CultureMap also repeatedly tried calling the restaurant, but the mail box did not allow messages. The restaurant's Google Business profile lists it as "permanently closed."
Despite Ooh La La’s closure, Korean barbecue spots continue to pop up throughout San Antonio. The Guy Fieri-approved chain Dae Gee Korean BBQ debuted in January 2025, followed by a second location of Gen Korean Barbecue House in March. East Coast restaurant Honey Pig BBQ also recently announced it would open its first Alamo City location later in 2026.
