OPENING ALERT
Valley seafood chain docks first San Antonio restaurant on West Side

Muelle 37 is opening its first San Antonio restaurant.
A popular Rio Grande Valley seafood chain will soon make a splash on the West Side. Muelle 37 is building its first San Antonio restaurant at 4729 W. Commerce St. with hopes to open in early 2026.
The counter-service spot offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican seafood dishes like cocktails, fried fish, grilled filets, and ceviche. The caldos come with a choice of Gulf shrimp, tilapia, or both.
Although most of the menu comes from the sea, the restaurant does offer some selections for landlubbers. Fajita tacos, panchos, and a loaded hamburger with fries are listed along with flan and several cheesecakes sourced from the Cheesecake Factory.
The online drink menu takes up three pages, mostly devoted to tropical sippers like a boozy fishbowl and resort-style cocktails such as mojitos, Blue Hawaiians, and piña coladas. Diners can also order vampiros, frozen margaritas, micheladas, beer, and various brightly colored shots. Nondrinkers can opt for juices or freshly squeezed lemonade.
Muelle first opened in 2014 and has since surged into a 12-restaurant chain, all save the Corpus Christi location, scattered across the Valley. The name translates to pier (or dock) 37, a nod to 37 cities that make up the region.
According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings, the almost 6,000-square-foot restaurant will begin construction in late September with an estimated January 2026 completion date. Thus far, Muelle 37 has not made any public announcement about the expansion.
