Mambo Number 3
Mambo Seafood shimmies into grand opening at new San Antonio location
A Texas mini-chain is reeling in new locations, but it's still just trawling through a few cities. San Antonio is one of them, serving as a secondary hub for Mambo Seafood after its home base in Houston. The third San Antonio location has been open for about a month, but it's making it official on November 16 with a party to get some wind in its sails.
It's right in the name: Mambo Seafood offers a wide range of seafood dishes — from lobster, to fish tacos, to shrimp skewers, to whole red snapper — all in Latin styles. It already operates two San Antonio locations on Loop 410, and the latest is at 3242 Goliad Rd. It's on the edge of Brooks City Base between the Fairfield Inn & Suites and Lowe's Home Improvement.

The grand opening from 11 am to 2 pm brings together live entertainment by Highland High School's dance team and band, balloon art, face painting, and most important, tastes of signature menu items.
Popular ones for online reviewers are margaritas — made with lime, strawberry, chamoy, mango, or tamarind — and the restaurant's signature shrimp fried rice. But diners aren't limited to what's popular. The menu is modular, allowing choices of fish, cut, cooking style, sauces, sides, and more.

"We’re excited to welcome the San Antonio community and be a part of the Brooks neighborhood," said Mambo Seafood CEO Nuno Lima in a press release. "This grand opening is all about celebrating our San Antonio familia, food, and the connections we make around the table — the Mambo difference."
According a map on the Mambo website, there are 16 locations across Texas including a dozen in the Houston area and one in McAllen. The first San Antonio location opened in August of 2023. The second, in Lackland, is still relatively new, having opened in late summer of 2024.
