OPENING ALERT
San Antonio scoops cool new ice cream shop with international flavors

Ked's is known for creative flavors like habanero pepper, sesame seed, and Thai tea.
A cool Plano-based ice cream shop will soon bring its international flavors to San Antonio. Ked's Artisan Ice Cream and Treats is opening its first Alamo City parlor in the Stone Oak Shops at 19239 Stone Oak Pkwy #106.
Ked's got its start in 2009 as Old Town Creamery before expanding to Plano and rebranding to reflect a broadened menu of crepes, bubble waffles, and boba teas. Not to be confused with the canvas shoe brand of the same name, the shop is named after founder Hussain "Ked" Kedwaii.
Although the shops cover all the basics like chocolate, vanilla, and birthday cake, it is best known for offering flavors you don't often find at other ice cream parlors. Unexpected ingredients like habanero pepper meet an array of global tastes spanning Eastern Asia (Oolong green tea and sesame seed), the Indian subcontinent (kaju-daraksha, or cashew-raisin), Latin America (pineapple Honduran), and the Middle East (Persian Delight).
Among the "treats' are two of India's most popular desserts. Faloodas combine milk, ice cream, rice vermicelli, rose syrup, basil seeds, and various add-ons like dry fruit and nuts. Kulfi is a dense ice cream served on a stick. Ked's offers several flavors, including malai (clotted cream), vanilla, chocolate, mango, and pistachio.
Guests can also get a sugar rush from the sweet crepes. The Superman crepe — topped with whipped cream, bubblegum and cotton candy ice creams, chocolate syrup, and powdered sugar — is sure to amp up any kid's birthday party.
Although Ked's has officially announced the San Antonio shop, it has yet to reveal the opening timeframe. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records estimate the renovation of a former AAA office will be finished in mid-February 2026.
