NEW THINGS BREWING
Cult SoCal boba chain opens first Texas location in San Antonio

It's Boba Time will open its first Texas shop on August 6.
Los Angeles’ cult It’s Boba Time is giving San Antonio something new to chew on. The rapidly growing SoCal favorite is debuting its first Texas tea shop at The Vineyard Shopping Center on August 6.
Angelino Eunice Pak founded the brand in 2003 with a single storefront, but It’s Boba Time quickly became a phenomenon. Although the beverage chain has dipped its toes outside of the Southern California market with shops in Nevada and Arizona, the 1201 N Loop 1604 W #117 location marks the start of a major nationwide expansion.
“We’re excited to bring the It’s Boba Time experience to San Antonio,” says an It’s Boba Time rep in a release. “This city has such a strong food scene, and we’re thrilled to be part of it. Texas has been asking for us, and we heard you!”
Deciding what to order might be a tough task for the shop’s new Alamo City customers. It’s Boba Time offers a whopping 140 menu items, including milk teas, smoothies, slushes, and fresh juice — all customizable. Those who want a more substantial snack than a tapioca pearl can also dive into açai bowls.
The chain has also become just as famed for its social media savvy as its drinks. The bright, modern dining rooms are the ideal spot for snapping It’s Boba Time’s interpretations of some of 2025’s most viral flavor trends, including a layered strawberry matcha milk tea and a Dubai chocolate frappe sprinkled with chopped pistachios.
To celebrate the landmark opening, It’s Boba Time will be giving away free regular-sized drinks to its first 100 guests. Fans can also take home limited-edition swag like keyrings, hats, and tote bags as gifts with purchases.
It’s Boba Time did not supply the opening hours for the San Antonio shop, but its California locations are all over the map. For night owl sippers, however, there is some good news. Most outposts stay open until at least 9 pm. Locals can consult the company’s website for the upcoming details.
