OPENING ALERT
Gourmet burger bar debuts on San Antonio's North Side

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is finally opening its third San Antonio restaurant.
Austin’s popular Hopdoddy Burger Bar has revealed the opening date of its third San Antonio restaurant. The gourmet burger favorite will give out tons of freebies when it opens at 11267 Huebner Rd. location on Tuesday, March 3.
“Continuing to grow in the San Antonio area is an exciting next step for Hopdoddy,” said Jeff Chandler, CEO of Hopdoddy Burger Bar, in an earlier release. “San Antonio continues to be an important part of our growth in Texas, and we’re excited to bring another better burger space in the area where guests can enjoy the creativity and hospitality that define our brand.”
The new San Antonio outpost will follow Hopdoddy’s winning formula of making “better burgers” from an assortment of proteins like Angus and Kobe beef, chicken, Ahi tuna, and turkey. Diners can expect crispy tenders, chicken lollipops, crispy Brussels sprouts, and the chain’s famous Parmesan truffle fries.
As with all locations, the new Hopdoddy will also be dishing out the charitable Goodnight / Good Cause Burger made with a grass-fed, pasture-raised beef patty topped with Tillamook Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, caffeinated barbecue sauce, Doddy mayo, lettuce, and tomato. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Tuned In Program, a grant-giving organization for local musicians.
Hopdoddy’s name was inspired by beer, but cocktails like the Doble Fina are just as important to the bar program. The dessert menu has a little bit of kick, too, courtesy of boozy shakes like the double chocolate brownie made with custard blended with dark chocolate, gluten-friendly brownies, and Frangelico hazelnut liqueur.
To celebrate its grand opening, The Strand restaurant will give the first 100 guests in line scratch-off tickets redeemable for prizes like restaurant swag or free cheeseburgers for a year. Then, on March 7, Hopdoddy will host its official grand opening on the patio with live music, a prize wheel, and a free margarita, beer, or nonalcoholic lemonade for each guest.
Once open, Hopdoddy’s hours will be Sunday through Thursday, 11 am-10 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 11 am-11 pm.
