FOND FAREWELLS
Boerne fine-dining restaurant waves goodbye after 20 years
The Creek Restaurant is especially known for its fine steaks and seafood.
One of Boerne’s best spots for fine dining is calling it a day. The Creek Restaurant, the charming steaks and seafood spot from Tardif’s American Brasserie chef Jean Tardif, says it will close on March 14.
The restaurant did not formally give a reason for the closure, but hinted that the restaurant had simply run its course.
“Today we close a very meaningful chapter in our story,” wrote the restaurant on Instagram. “After so many years of unforgettable moments, celebrations, laughter, and shared memories, The Creek has fulfilled its cycle. We move forward with hearts full of gratitude for every guest who supported us, dined with us, celebrated milestones with us, and made this place more than just a restaurant — you made it a community.”
The restaurant has been a mainstay of the Hill Country community since 2006, when it opened at 119 Staffel St., along the banks of Cibolo Creek. It was a go-to for birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and other special occasions, offering classic dishes like trout almondine, shrimp Tampico, and crispy crab cakes.

Tardif took over operations in late 2024, slightly adjusting the menu, but retaining the charm of the roughly 200-year-old Victorian wood-framed building.
The Creek’s closure is hot on the heels of another fine dining loss in Boerne. In November 2025, Peggy's on the Green, the upscale Southern restaurant from lauded San Antonio chef Mark Bohanan, dished out its last order of country-fried quail. It has since been replaced by The Kendall Restaurant.
As with Peggy’s, the Creek is giving patrons a chance to dine on their favorites one last time.
“[W]e would truly love to see you one last time so we can say goodbye the way it should be — with a glass raised, great food, and the warmth that has always defined us,” it wrote.
