All the top San Antonio restaurants to dine out on Thanksgiving Day
Does the idea of cooking on Thanksgiving tire you out? We're exhausted just thinking about our grocery list. This year, ditch the kitchen and reserve a spot at one of these restaurants open on Thanksgiving. Or, if you must have an excuse to use your china, peruse our list for take-out options.
Bakery Lorraine
Bakery Lorraine is taking special orders for holiday pies and macarons. 9-inch pie options include pumpkin, pecan, and apple cranberry. Pre-boxed holiday macarons are available in packs of six or 12, in pumpkin spice, caramel apple, and cranberry flavors. The last day to place an order is November 20.
Frederick's Bistro
Frederick's is hosting a beautiful Thanksgiving lunch with a savory and seasonal menu. Options include butternut squash pumpkin soup; Black Angus beef tenderloin; lamb chops; and a turkey plate served with stuffing, cranberries, and vegetables.
Larder at Hotel Emma
Hotel Emma's specialty shop is offering a special Thanksgiving "heat and serve" turkey dinner to-go, which comes fully equipped with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pie, and all the fixings. Be sure to contact Larder to place your order ahead of time. $200-plus per order.
Las Ramblas at Hotel Contessa
Make it an early Thanksgiving at Las Ramblas at Hotel Contessa with a decadent brunch. From 11 am to 2:30 pm, Las Ramblas is dishing out an elegant Thanksgiving feast with an omelet station and buffet with French toast and biscuits and gravy, as well as a separate station for cereal, granola, and yogurt. $55 for adults, $20 for children 6 to 13.
Piatti at the Eilan Hotel
Piatti is bringing out all the stops on Thanksgiving. The chefs are offering some of their favorite starters from their regular dinner menu, in addition to decadent mains — think roasted turkey, rosemary garlic crusted prime rib, pork chop, Chilean seabass, and butternut squash ravioli.
Supper at Hotel Emma
Supper is open for its standard breakfast menu, but at lunch and dinner, the menus are all about Thanksgiving. For a fixed price, Supper is dishing out a plate with roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and gravy. The bar is also mixing up themed cocktails in the spirit of the holiday. $35-plus per person.
Two Bros BBQ Market
Barbecue on Thanksgiving? Yes, please. Two Bros BBQ Market is making it super easy for you this year. Place your order by November 20, and your Thanksgiving meal — one barbecue spiced and smoked whole turkey, southern style pecan cornbread dressing, roasted rosemary fingerling potatoes, green bean casserole, Waldorf salad, turkey gravy, sour orange cranberry jam, Hawaiian rolls — is yours to-go. $99.
Wildfish Seafood Grille
This upscale Stone Oak restaurant is dishing out a traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, in addition to the standard dinner offerings. Call ahead to make reservations if you plan to partake in Wildfish's turkey meal. $38 for adults, $15 for children.
Zinc Bistro & Wine Bar
Though Zinc is offering its regular menu to diners on Thanksgiving, there's also a pre-set Thanksgiving menu with decadent offerings for those who'd like a more traditional meal. For starters, choose between house-made pate de campagne with pickled vegetables, mustards, and roasted garlic crostini or the grilled endive salad with a pumpkin seed vinaigrette. Next, indulge in the roasted turkey breast with a house-made sausage-sage dressing, served with a Yukon gold potato gratin and thyme gravy. For dessert, opt for the sweet potato pecan pie or select a sweet from the regular menu. $25 for adults, $15 for children.
