Where to Drink
Where to drink in San Antonio right now: 5 best frozen cocktails for summer bliss
When temperatures hit 100 in San Antonio, frozen cocktails are in order. These five spots serve up some of the best cold and flavorful concoctions Alamo City has to offer.
Chacho's
It was our first time visiting this San Antonio staple, and the introduction to all of its slushy drinks went over swimmingly. Cool your jets this month with the frozen Jack and Coke: part boozy and part slushy for the complete package.
Down on Grayson
Grayson Street's new kid on the block is serving up amazing frozen treats. We loved the frozen Moscow Mule, but the margaritas were a close second as the perfect companion to our shared plates. It's a beauty of a spot and the drinks work for these hot summer days. Plus, the presentation was on point and totally Instagrammable.
Quarry Hofbrau
Quarry Hofbrau is busy with people drinking Dos-A-Ritas. Except instead of the usual beer turned upside down in a margarita, there are a variety of frozen cocktails with different bottles plopped into them, including Big Red, champagne, and Jarritos. We were impressed at the sheer number of choices. Our favorite? The Dreamsicle with Sunkist Orange Soda, naturally, which will make you feel like a kid again. Play some shuffleboard while sipping.
Rumble
If we're totally honest, we almost couldn't make it past the bubble gum shots. Bottom line: You must try them. We did, however, prevail in our quest to find the ideal frozen drink to keep us cool all summer long. A perfectly blended Bahia Lust is a frozen can't-miss at this new St. Mary's strip staple.
The Well
It's a dance hall, concert venue, and beer garden rolled into one. And it does its frozens well. Try the Paleta Rita, a Popsicle drink that leaves you clamoring for another. Or you can sip on the Almond Joy, a unique tropical piña colada blended with chocolate.
