Pastel '90s time capsule hits San Antonio market for $750K
Never has a home’s address more accurately described its vibe. A recently listed home at 23135 Summers Dream in San Antonio’s Sonterra neighborhood is going viral for its quirky pastel interiors — a mix of lilac carpets, seafoam ceilings, and dreamy cloud wallpaper.
Listed by the Schrader Group for $750,000, the home first seems at peace with its neighborhood. The facade is a tasteful beige interrupted by towering arched windows. None of it is any preparation for what visitors will find inside.
A curved staircase is backed by two stories of wavy mirrors, the kitchen counter has a swoosh of teal tiles like a Solo Jazz cup, glass block surrounds a circular shower, and at least one of the toilets is dusty pink. The design is a perfectly preserved time capsule from 1992, when the house was built.
Commenters on the r/zillowgonewild subreddit are comparing it to a mall food court, a Polly Pocket playset, and a Saved by the Bell stage. A TikTok walkthrough with more than 45,000 views calls it the “mermaid house.”

Both threads identify the homeowner as Monika Menczer, who passed away in 2024. Her obituary is as colorful as her décor, describing her life as a department store display manager, owner of a balloon business, European traveler, and master gardener at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
“Her ski trips with her ski club were legendary, as were her annual Halloween parties,” read the listing. “Monika also found joy in simpler pleasures such as craft shows, movies, concerts, shopping, and she loved the color purple.”
Whether the eventual buyer keeps her singular version or not (we hope they do), they will have plenty of other distinctive features to enjoy. The roomy kitchen is flanked by a large wet bar backdropped by glass shelving. The three-bedroom, five-bathroom house also boasts a wine cellar, a study, a loft space, two fireplaces, and a secret closet. The backyard includes a swimming pool that is not particularly flamboyant, but does make room for a hot tub and waterfall.
And any new owner can rest assured that what comes around goes around. Bold carpeting is one of 2026’s hottest home trends, and postmodern design is experiencing a renaissance with Millenials and Zoomers. Call it Memphis revival or dopamine décor, but maybe Monika was on to something.
