Spring Branch: Peaceful convenience with scenic Hill Country views
There are so many great places to live in San Antonio that it helps to have an expert on your side. The Neighborhood Guide presented by Kuper Sotheby's International Realty gives you insider access from the agents who live and work there, providing in-the-know info about your possible new community.

San Antonio native Selena Aleman moved to the River Crossing community in Spring Branch two years ago, lured by the Texas Hill Country views, not to mention the spacious lot sizes and beautiful custom homes.
“Coming from San Antonio, I really love the more slow-paced vibe and that relaxed feeling,” she says. “Everyone is nice, and the River Crossing Club hosts a number of events to bring the community together.”
For Selena and many other residents, it also helps that Spring Branch is now far more accessible from San Antonio proper with the long-awaited opening of US 281 last year.
While she brings insider real estate knowledge to every new opportunity, Selena also has a passion for the music industry and the culture of her hometown. She co-founded the Maverick Music Festival in San Antonio in 2013, which continued for four years and featured bands like the Toadies, Psychedelic Furs, Candlebox, and a young Gary Clark Jr., to name just a few.
Selena offered up some of her personal favorites about life in Spring Branch's River Crossing. Here's her guide to the area:
Where to eat & drink
Branch Neighborhood Grill is a local spot with tried-and-true favorites like burgers, seafood, ribs, and more.
For one-of-kind cocktails and a vast selection of whiskey, look no further than neighborhood bar Bourbon & Branch.
The District On 46 is a locally owned destination that features small-business shops along with an incredible food truck park, a container coffee shop, and a treetop tavern, all in one place. They also host live music and seasonal special events.
Where to play
The beautiful Guadalupe River is a must, especially with the River Crossing community’s gated, private river access that has a pavilion for parties and picnic areas.
For more time in nature, Garner State Park is close by and is popular for hiking and overnight camping.
What to see
While it’s a little off the beaten path, the historic Anhalt Hall — which was originally established in 1875 — is a must for Selena. The venue hosts monthly country western dances and also features music festivals along with concerts and more.
Where to live
River Crossing is known for its custom-planned farmhouses that are infused with that contemporary-meets-rustic Hill Country spirit.
A perfect example of a home in the area is 1381 River Way, a five-bedroom property recently sold by Selena that boasts an incredible, tree-lined, 2.34-acre lot that includes an outdoor living area and pool that’s made for entertaining.
