New Braunfels named the 2nd most moved-to U.S. ZIP code of 2025

More people are flocking to New Braunfels than nearly any other U.S. city in 2025.
New Braunfels has already proved it's one of the most livable cities in the United States, but a new study has revealed that the once-sleepy Hill Country town has attracted more new residents than nearly any other place in the country in 2025. No wonder it is attracting some of the state's splashiest restaurants and a surge of new development.
New Braunfels' 78130 ZIP code landed the coveted No. 2 spot on MovingPlace's new list of the 10 most popular U.S. ZIP codes for movers in 2025. San Antonio's own 78253 ZIP code also landed on the list in 10th place.
The report analyzed more than 6.38 million moves that occurred between January and May 2025 and ranked the U.S. cities that had the most moves by ZIP code.
During the first five months of the year, New Braunfels' 78130 ZIP had 3,486 inbound moves, the second-highest out of all ZIP codes in the nation.
The report says the suburb is a suitable place to live based on its quiet lifestyle and its location between San Antonio and Austin.
"Its appeal lies in a unique mix of historic charm, outdoor recreation along the Guadalupe River, and affordable living costs compared to nearby big cities," the report's author wrote.
New Braunfels famously saw the second-largest population boom in the country in 2023, further confirming the city's thriving popularity and community.
Confirming a previous ranking of the hottest destinations for Americans on the move, San Antonio's 78253 ZIP code saw the 10th-highest rate of inbound moves during the first part of the year, totaling 2,883 moves. The report said the Alamo City provides a "vibrant cultural scene" that attracts both families and young professionals.
"This area appeals to those seeking urban amenities alongside affordable housing options, with strong growth in healthcare, military, and tech sectors," the report said.
