Miralomas: Unparalleled Hill Country views and nature-rich luxury in Boerne
There are so many great places to live in San Antonio that it helps to have an expert on your side. The Neighborhood Guide presented by Kuper Sotheby's International Realty gives you insider access from the agents who live and work there, providing in-the-know info about your possible new community.

“Imagine sitting on your back porch and enjoying an incredible view of the Texas Hill Country while having the convenience of being so close to a major city,” say real estate agents Gregory Hufstetler and Drake Hagman of the Hufstetler and Hagman Group. “It’s a rare opportunity.”
But it’s an opportunity that can be found in Miralomas, a gated, master-planned community in Boerne, which is about 30 miles north of San Antonio.
Both Gregory and Drake love introducing clients to this neighborhood, which is perched 1,800 feet above sea level (cue those unparalleled views) and feels beautifully secluded. Yet it is just five minutes from both IH-10 and Boerne’s superb schools, restaurants, and cultural scene.
What also makes Miralomas special is its emphasis on conservation and the environment. The community is preserving more than half of its nearly 900 acres as untouched nature and has integrated an extensive system of rustic trails for hiking, exploring, and jogging throughout the varied topography. Additional onsite amenities include a 40-acre lake, 24/7 fitness center, pool, playgrounds, and more.
Gregory and Drake offered up some of their personal favorites about life in Miralomas. Here's their guide to the area:
Where to eat & drink
For Gregory, who once worked for NASA, La Cascada Table & Bar is out of this world. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort and focuses on bold Texas flavors and locally sourced ingredients, sometimes with a side of live music.
There’s also live music most days on the patio stage of The Dodging Duck Brewhaus & Restaurant, which is a favorite of Drake’s. Paying homage to Boerne’s German roots, “The Duck” is housed in a renovated turn-of-the-century home with views of the scenic Cibolo Creek. They even brew their own craft beer onsite in a 10-barrel, copper-clad brewery.
Where to play
You’ll find Gregory at the golf course at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, which was designed by world-renowned golf course architect Tripp Davis.
Drake, who was an avid bass fishing competitor in high school and college, can never get enough of the great outdoors and recommends the Cibolo Center for Conservation. It includes the Cibolo Nature Center, which has six miles of trails, and Herff Farm, a gathering place for weekly farmers markets, concerts, and more.
What to see
At the top of Gregory’s list is River Road Park, which runs along Cibolo Creek and is directly across the street from several local restaurants and shops.
For fun for the whole family, The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center features a collection of antique tractors and farm equipment from the last century. It also hosts bluegrass jams, trail rides, and more events throughout the year.
Where to live
Miralomas has a selection of move-in ready homes in addition to a range of custom homebuilders, according to Gregory and Drake.
“Premier builders were chosen for their expertise in designing distinctive homes and their commitment to exceeding expectations,” adds Drake. “These builders are focused on comfortable luxury, crafting timeless spaces that integrate family, nature, and the community; they’ll work with you step-by-step until your vision for home is achieved.”
