Rare organic farm outside San Antonio hits the market for $8 million
Heads up for aspiring homesteaders in San Antonio: A 380-acre organic farm located just minutes south of the city is looking for a new owner for $7.95 million.
This expansive property in neighboring Atascosta County is one of the largest organic farming operations in Texas, according to its listing firm Foster Farm and Ranch.
“There’s nothing else on the market like it,” said Case Gatlin, Foster Farm and Ranch listing agent. “It’s a super rare find.”
The farm contains over 300 acres of cropland and orchards, a five-acre temperature-controlled retractable roof Cravo greenhouse, and several turnkey production facilities, as well as an under- and above-ground water and irrigation system.
The greenhouse produces Texas certified organic strawberries, while the orchards contain four varieties of peach trees. Five additional acres of land contain 48 covered hoop houses for growing strawberries.

Other improvements on the farm include:
- 14,500-square-foot packing facility, which includes valuable amenities like cold storage, offices, and three loading docks
- 13,000-square-foot fully enclosed storage facility
- Two fully enclosed equipment barns
- A metal pole barn
- Three 6,000 gallon diesel fuel tanks
- Two Carrizo irrigation wells, including one that can produce up to 1,000 gallons per minute
The farm also includes several options for living accommodations: two 1,400-square-foot living quarters for workers, and a 1,000-square-foot farm manager's house complete with a 480-square-foot garage.
“If you look across the acreage, you can see the versatility that the land holds,” said Foster. “This property is built to set people up for success, and we are intrigued for the future it holds.”
The farm already maintains an agricultural exemption, and taxes are estimated at about $52,000 annually.
This isn't the first time the ranch has been put up for sale. Industry outlet The Real Deal reported the farm had been listed in July 2024 for its same $8 million price tag, but a local real estate agent also posted about the listing in 2021.
