Most Expensive Neighborhoods
San Antonio's most expensive neighborhoods for renters revealed
More than half of San Antonio renters are burdened by the rising cost of rent, but which neighborhoods are to blame?
Zumper has released a report detailing the most expensive areas to rent in San Antonio right now. The real estate website combed through thousands of listings to determine the median price for a two-bedroom rental across San Antonio.
Downtown San Antonio racks up the largest bill. A two-bedroom unit in this hot 'hood has a median price of $1,690 per month — $680 more than the San Antonio median of $1,010. In second place is Olmos Park Terrace. Rent in this historical district, comprised mostly of cottage-style architecture, is $1,320 a month.
Medina Valley is the third most expensive neighborhood in Alamo City. Rent in this growing suburb is $1,280 a month, due to new construction, high square footage, and stiff rental competition. A similar phenomenon is happening in Eckhert Crossing, No. 4, where rent is $1,245.
Following close behind are two of San Antonio's most affluent neighborhoods: Stone Oak ($1,225) and Monte Vista ($1,220). Rounding out the top 10 most expensive neighborhoods are Willshire Terrace ($1,195), Oak Park Northwood ($1,150), Terrell Heights ($1,150), and Alamo Farmsteads ($1,135).
