The Guadalupe Latino Bookstore presents Texas Author Series: Eddie Vega
San Antonio Poet Laureate Eddie Vega is this month’s Texas Author Series featured author at the Guadalupe Latino Bookstore. Vega, also known as the Taco Poet of Texas, will read passages from his book, Somos Nopales for visitors. Light refreshments will be served and signed books will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
Centro Cultural Aztlan presents Newspaper Boys: Ayer y Hoy en San Anto opening reception
The latest work by visual artists Oscar A. Galván Jr. and Martin Emmanuel Rangel debuts at Centro Cultural Aztlan. The two-man exhibit explores the landmarks of San Antonio’s Westside and Downtown neighborhoods and their evolutions over time through the artists' perspectives as life-long locals. Reception admission is free and open to the public.
Tobin Center for the Performing Arts presents Cinema on Will's Plaza
Enjoy a free movie night under the stars at The Plaza at the Tobin Center. This month’s featured film is the 2014 animated hit, The Lego Movie. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to ensure good outdoor seats. A full bar and concessions will be available to complete the movie night. Cinema on Will’s Plaza continues monthly through December 13.

Ruby City presents Semejantes Personajes/Significant Personages Panel Discussion
Celebrate Xicanx Month in conversation with photographer Celia Álvarez Muñoz and artists featured in her work at Ruby City. Artists will recall their experiences in shifting the cultural landscape and being captured in front of Muñoz’s lens. The panel discussion will be moderated by McNay Art Museum Curator of Latinx Art, Mia Lopez. Capacity is limited. Admission is free with RSVP.
Bulls, Bands, and Barrels
Freeman Coliseum shines the spotlight on Western sports and live entertainment for an evening of electrifying competition. Attendees can enjoy rounds of barrel racing, bullfighting, and competitive bull riding by some of the best professionals in American rodeo. Comedic legend and actor George Lopez returns to the Alamo City as part of his national Alllriiiighhttt Tour. Best known for his decades of standup and his eponymous mid-2000s TV sitcom, Lopez has etched himself into the record books as one of comedy’s titans.
